Embark on an unforgettable adventure with the Mount Rinjani 4-day trekking expedition. This thrilling journey takes you deep into the heart of Lombok, where you’ll experience the majesty of Mount Rinjani, Indonesia’s second-highest active volcano. Starting with a peaceful arrival in Senggigi, your adventure takes you through scenic landscapes, past waterfalls, and into the rugged terrain of the crater. The expedition culminates with a sunrise over the crater lake, followed by a descent through dense forests and local villages. This experience offers not only breathtaking views but also a unique cultural immersion as you witness the traditional way of life in Lombok. Whether you’re an experienced trekker or a first-time adventurer, the Rinjani trekking expedition promises an experience of a lifetime.
Your adventure begins with a transfer from your Senggigi hotel to Sembalun Lawang, the gateway to Mount Rinjani. As you begin your trek, the trail gently ascends through wide grasslands, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. You’ll take breaks at scenic checkpoints along the way. In the late afternoon, arrive at Pelawangan II, the Sembalun Crater Rim at 2,700 meters. Enjoy the peaceful surroundings as you settle into camp for the night under a starry sky.
Start early for an unforgettable trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani. As the sun rises, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the island below. After capturing the majestic sights, begin your descent, passing through fields of Edelweiss flowers. Continue down to Segara Anak Lake at 2,000 meters, a serene spot surrounded by towering peaks. Spend the night by the lake, where you can swim in the crystal-clear waters, explore caves, or relax in the healing hot springs.
Wake up early to soak in the beauty of the lake before you begin your hike to Pelawangan I, located on the Senaru Crater Rim at 2,641 meters. The climb offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscape. If the weather permits, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular sunset, with the Gili Islands and Mount Agung in Bali as a breathtaking backdrop. Spend the night at the Crater Rim, enjoying the serene atmosphere and the beauty of the area.
On your final day, wake up early to catch the sunrise over Mount Rinjani and the surrounding crater rim. After a hearty breakfast, descend through a lush jungle canopy, where you may spot the rare black ebony leaf monkey. Along the way, take breaks at Pos 111 and Pos 11 before reaching Senaru Village. Once at Senaru, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel in Senggigi or to the Teluk Nare boat pier to Gili islands in the afternoon for onward travel.
