Embark on an exciting 2-day Mount Rinjani trekking to Senaru Crater Rim, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints on Mount Rinjani. This trek is perfect for those who want to experience Rinjani’s stunning landscapes without summiting, making it an ideal option for beginners and moderate hikers.
Starting from Senaru Village, the trail takes you through lush tropical rainforests, rich with wildlife, flowing streams, and scenic resting spots. As you ascend, the landscape transforms into open meadows and volcanic ridges, leading to Pelawangan Senaru (2,641m). Here, you’ll camp overnight, overlooking the stunning Segara Anak Lake with views of Mount Rinjani’s summit and the surrounding islands.
Enjoy a spectacular sunset and sunrise from the crater rim before descending back to Senaru through the enchanting jungle canopy. This Mount Rinjani 2-day trek is a rewarding and scenic journey, offering incredible panoramic views, diverse ecosystems, and an immersive outdoor adventure.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel, followed by a drive to Senaru Village (601m). After a briefing at the Rinjani Trek Centre, we begin the trek through the dense tropical rainforest, home to black ebony leaf monkeys, exotic birds, and lush vegetation. We take short breaks at Pos 1 (750m), Pos 2 (1,500m), and Pos 3 (2,000m), where you can rest and enjoy light refreshments. As we gain altitude, the landscape shifts from dense forest to open highlands with panoramic views of the valley below. By late afternoon, we reach Pelawangan Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m), where you’ll set up camp. Witness a mesmerizing sunset over Segara Anak Lake, with views stretching towards Mount Rinjani’s peak and the surrounding islands. Enjoy a warm campfire dinner before resting under the stars.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise, a breathtaking moment as the first light illuminates the crater rim and lake. After breakfast, begin the descent back to Senaru Village, retracing your steps through the lush jungle. As you walk through the rainforest canopy, listen to the calls of birds and spot playful monkeys along the way. We take breaks at Pos 3, Pos 2, and Pos 1, before reaching Senaru Village, where a vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel. Arrive in the late afternoon, marking the end of your Rinjani trekking experience.
