About this activity

The beauty of Rinjani, without the demanding summit climb. Our Rinjani crater rim trek is a gentle 2-day walk up the forested Senaru side of the mountain to a spectacular crater-rim viewpoint at 2,641 m, overlooking the Segara Anak lake and the towering summit beyond. You’ll camp overnight with a sunrise view and descend the next morning. There’s no summit push and no scree — just a steady, scenic trek through beautiful montane rainforest, fully supported by a guide, porters and a mountain cook. It’s our most accessible Rinjani adventure, and we’ve been guiding it since 2006.

Your Rinjani Adventure Starts Here

Here’s a happy secret: you don’t have to summit Rinjani to be completely wowed by it. From the Senaru crater rim, the whole caldera opens up beneath you — the shimmering lake, the great cone of the summit, the clouds drifting through — and at sunrise it’s simply magical.

This is the trek for travellers who want the mountain’s magic without a strenuous climb: beginners, families with older children, and anyone easing into trekking. If you can enjoy a few hours of walking, you can do this — and with our team carrying the gear, cooking hot meals and setting a comfortable pace, it’s as relaxed as a mountain adventure gets.

Why Trek Rinjani With Us

We’re a local Lombok team, raised around this mountain, guiding the Rinjani crater rim trek since 2006. Our guides bring the forest to life — the birds, the orchids, the legends — and keep the whole walk friendly and unhurried.
